In rural villages throughout the Singida and Dodoma regions of Tanzania, both women and men are dedicated to ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). These individuals are working tirelessly to put an end to this harmful practice and promote women's rights.
These dedicated activists are supported by FOKUS, a knowledge and resource center for international women's issues. FOKUS envisions a world based on equality and fairness, where women's human rights are protected, and everyone can participate on equal terms, regardless of gender.
This project was commissioned by FOKUS to shed light on the inspiring work being done to end FGM and promote gender equality in Tanzania.
