MAZIKO, a 5-year project launched in November 2021, integrates maternal and child cash transfers with social and behavior change interventions to improve child nutrition and development. Reaching nearly 42,000 households in Ntcheu and Balaka districts, it includes a research component with a cluster randomized trial to assess impact, cost-effectiveness, and scalability. The findings will inform Malawi’s National Social Protection system and enhance its multi-sector nutrition strategy.
